About Us

Our Story

I’m John, owner of Basement Waterproofing Auckland, and my team and I are passionate about doing one thing better than anyone else – keeping Auckland homes dry.

We’re not your average tradies turning up in a rusted ute with a bucket of quick-fix sealant. We’re professional waterproofing specialists who understand drainage, block wall systems, and the science of water movement. For years, we’ve been protecting homes across Auckland, from Silverdale to Papakura, Mission Bay to Titirangi. Using proven materials and methods designed for New Zealand’s unique climate.

Auckland’s weather is unpredictable: heavy rain, humidity, and water-logged soil are part of daily life. Without proper waterproofing, concrete block walls can absorb moisture, leading to mould, cracks, and costly structural damage. We prevent that. Our exterior waterproofing, retaining wall drainage, and foundation sealing services create long-term solutions, not short-term patches.

What makes us different?

We show up when we say we will.
We do the job right the first time, using top-quality membranes and drainage systems.
We communicate clearly: no surprises, no hidden fees.
We stand behind our work with full warranties, public liability, and professional indemnity insurance.

At Basement Waterproofing Auckland, we treat every property like our own. Whether you’re protecting a new build or rescuing a flooded basement, we’ll deliver lasting results and honest service.

They were friendly and tidy, and nothing seemed to faze them when unexpected issues came up. They just found solutions and got on with the job.

It feels so good to be living in a dry home again! We really appreciated the care and effort they put in and are so pleased with the result. Would absolutely recommend them.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Basement Waterproofing Auckland came and waterproofed our Auckland basement in June this year. They did an excellent job; communication was very clear and prompt, going above and beyond to keep us informed of progress and to respond to any questions we had. They also quoted clearly and promptly, with every aspect itemised, and kept us informed if changes were needed to the schedule (for example, when the job took a little longer than expected).

The workers themselves were lovely, really pleasant, polite and considerate of noise during particular times for me as a homeworker. They left the site very clean and tidy, too.

The job they did is fantastic, and we feel confident that we won't have problems with flooding in the future. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have waterproofing work done, and would certainly employ them in the future.

John was recommended to us and from start to finish everyone involved with Galaxie plumbing provided a professiomal service that couldnt be faulted. From the outset John provided excellent advice, discussed options with us and to our relief was quick to get his team on site to start the job. The guys were friendly, punctual, always helpful and we are delighted with the finished result. We highly recommend them.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. John and his team provided a superior service over all the other companies I approached for help. Initial response was fast and friendly, and the work was carried out efficiently and tidily.
Due to John’s extensive knowledge and experience, he was able to address a serious problem that other companies had baulked at.
In heavy rain, stormwater would run under my deck and pour over a block wall into a basement storage area. This resulted in flooding and multiple insurance claims. With limited space to work with, John devised a cost-effective solution which was a work of art in itself.
After years of rain anxiety, I am most grateful to John and his amazing team for providing me with some much-needed stress relief.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Your team did a great job. I had a leak in my basement and John was the only one to come out and give me a quote, and he was considerate of my budget and stress. I really couldn't recommend his team more highly throughout the process. Everyone was courteous and respectful of my experience. The end result was a sealed basement and a new storm drain system installed into my storm drain system. Thank you so much, I am so grateful I chose this company.
